AWARDS
The Peerless Penguin
The individual who raises the largest amount of money will receive a skiing package, courtesy of Smuggler's Notch Resort, America's family resort! Prizes include two nights lodging and two days of lift tickets for two people. Also inlcluded are 1.5 hours of ski lessons per person, per day and access to all apres ski amenities.
Winner: Marc Lewis of team "Taking Care of Business (TCB)" raised $8,250.00 to win the "Peerless Penguin" award.
The Pack of Plungers Prize
The pack consisting of the highest number of Plungers will receive the Pack of Plungers trophy, to be displayed at the place of their choice for one year.
Winner: Burlington Men's Rugby Club - the Burlington Men's Rugby Club has done it again! The men and women of this team heralded their icy march with bagpipers and brought a total of 32 plungers to the event!
The Plumage Award
The most creatively dressed Penguin will receive lift tickets courtesy of Smuggler's Notch Resort.
Winner: "Skier" - this woman wowed the crowd and our panel of VIP judges including local program athlete Ryan Maclaren, Chair of the Board of Directors, Christina DeGraff-Murphy, Executive Director of the Church Street Marketplace, Ron Redmond and Mayor Bob Kiss. Her brightly colored ski costume has not been seen before at the Penguin Plunge. Top awards went for originality and commitment to costume - it even included ski poles! If anyone knows this woman's name, please let us know so we can give her proper recognition!
The Peerless Flock
The largest group from a school or college will recieve the Peerless Flock trophy, to be displayed at thier school or college for one year.
Winner: Browns River Middle School - won for another year, bringing a total of 63 brave school children, teachers and staff members to the event.
