GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Equinox Resort and Spa will host the 2008 Special Olympics Vermont Golf Tournament - August 13th
SCHEDULE 9:30 a.m. Arrival & Registration 18 - Hole Competition 10:00 a.m. Begin 18 – Hole Competition 11:30 a.m. Arrival & Registration 9 -Hole and Skills Competitors 12:00 p.m. Lunch – Only Credentialed Participants (Lunch available for purchase for others) 12:45 p.m. Opening Ceremony 1:00 p.m. Competition resumes for 18-Hole – Back 9 Competition begins for 9 - Hole and Skills Competitors 3:30 p.m. Awards & Closing Ceremony LEVELS OF PLAY Level 1 Individual Skills Contest (ISC) Level 1 ISC will be held in accordance with Special Olympics Summer Sports Rules, Article IX - Golf. The competition consists of six skills designed to challenge the athlete to attain a minimum level of competence before going onto the golf course to play. Please submit a score for each skill on the Individual Skills Contest Registration Form. The skills are: - Short putt - Pitch shot - Chip shot - Long putt - Iron shot - Wood shot Level 2 Alternate Shot Team Play Competition (Nine Hole Stipulated Round) Level 2 Alternate Shot Team Play Competition shall be held in accordance with The Rules of Golf and Special Olympics Summer Sports Rules, Article IX - Golf. Please submit six scores playing the Alternate Shot Format on the team registration form provided. Level 3 Unified Sports™ Team Play (18 Hole) Level 3 Unified Sports™ Team Play shall be held in accordance with The Rules of Golf and Special Olympics Summer Sports Rules, Article IX - Golf. Please submit six scores playing the Alternate Shot Format on the team registration form provided. Level 4 Individual Stoke Play Competition (Nine hole Stipulated Round) Level 4 Individual Stoke Play Competition shall be held in accordance with The Rules of Golf and Special Olympics Summer Sports Rules, Article IX – Golf. Please submit a certified handicap or six 9-hole scores on the form provided.
2008 National Invitational Golf Tournament will be held in Port Lucie Florida Ben Austin and Taylor Cota from the Caledonia Program will represent Vermont at the 2008 National Invitational Golf Tournament.
