June 1-3, 2012 University of Vermont

Special Olympics Vermont will celebrate our 41st anniversary and host our annual Summer Games at the University of Vermont June 1-3. Athletes throughout Vermont will head to Burlington to compete in one of the four sports offered.  One hundred coaches and more than 400 volunteers will provide the support throughout the entire weekend to ensure a successful event.

In addition to traditional competition, the Summer  Games include Unified Sports and our Healthy Athletes Program.  Unified Sports which combines individuals with intellectual disabilities (athletes) and inviduals without intellectual disabilites (partners) on sports teams for training and competition.  Healthy Athletes is a program that provides free health screenings to Special Olympics Vermont athletes in four different health areas: vision, oral health, healthy lifestyles and general fitness.
